The man who allegedly stabbed a 42-year-old in the Salzburg municipality of Henndorf on Monday allegedly injured himself before being arrested.
The man was found by the Cobra task force in the shower of a vacation home about a mile from the crime scene. The 34-year-old Hungarian had several stab wounds on his body at the time. Ambulance personnel had to treat the man and then carry him away on a stretcher.
It is now clear that the man has the injuries self-taught. Police would not comment on the background or location of the injuries. Only: “The alleged 34-year-old Hungarian perpetrator suffered non-life-threatening cuts before his arrest. He was treated on an outpatient basis at the hospital before questioning.”

An investigating judge will decide on Wednesday afternoon whether the 34-year-old will be remanded in custody. During interrogations that lasted several hours, the man confessed to the crime.
