Russian state television: “Austria-Hungary must now be revived”

Date:

Russian propagandist and Putin supporter Vladimir Solovyov always makes people shake their heads at his views. And recently he has set his sights on Austria…

In a relatively dimly lit and therefore mystical studio, the TV agitator again debated the future of Europe. While people in our part of the world can appreciate Soloviev’s views, in Russia they are often taken for granted. It is not without reason that these types of discussions are broadcast on state television. The goal is to keep the people as much in line with the Kremlin as possible or, to put it more bluntly, to brainwash them.

This time people were racking their brains about what would happen in Europe after the Russian victory in Ukraine (according to Moscow, no other scenario is possible).

“It’s such a beautiful country…”
“It’s such a nice country there. “It’s called Austria,” the broadcast said. “It’s more or less neutral.” Then there’s Slovakia, which has just said it doesn’t feel comfortable standing next to a warring Ukraine and therefore doesn’t want to help (the war-torn country, note). ‘Orban’s Hungary’ also wants nothing to do with the war. And then there is the area of the former Yugoslavia.

Whereupon the glorious idea emerged: “Why don’t we do it this way: we turn Central Europe, which is a very good place by the way, into a neutral area. An Austro-Hungarian neutral territory.”

There was great approval in the studio. Soloviev said enthusiastically: “Yes, the great Austria-Hungary must now be brought back to life!” “We are simply expelling the Habsburgs,” the Putin-loyal talk show host said in his usual goofy manner.
