In 2021, more than a quarter of the funds of the Basque Development Cooperation Agency went to Africa, according to that year’s report published by eLankidetza. These are 41 initiatives, out of a total of 115, for an amount of €12,647,456 (out of nearly 50 million the agency has allocated).
In addition, more than a third of the African initiatives correspond to development cooperation projects carried out in the Horn of Africa, where there is an emergency due to famine and lack of water.
