The ESK union “hails” the call for the strike, although it believes it “falls short”.
The trade union ESK has expressed its support for the strike in Osakidetza for 18 and 19 May.
In a statement released today, ESK “welcomes” the call for the strike, though it believes it “falls short”. In addition, he has criticized the unions with representation in the Sector Table for not including them in his call when he represents “a combative sector within Osakidetza” and has participated in joint calls before.
Likewise, it believes that the trade unions with representation in Osakidetza should “join forces to carry out sustained mobilizations over time” leading to “stronger” strike days.
SATSE, ELA, LAB, SME, CCOO and UGT yesterday announced the call for these two days of strike in the middle of the campaign for the municipal and regional elections, to denounce the “dismantling” of public health.
Nearly 37,000 workers have been called to strike in all outpatient clinics and hospitals of the Basque health service.
The conveners have denounced Osakidetza’s “serious” situation and “the blocking of negotiations” and have demanded that the Minister of Health, Gotzone Sagardui, go to the sectoral table to respond to their demands.
