The consumer price index (CPI) lowered its interannual rate by 2.7 points in March. On a monthly basis, however, the CPI increased by 0.4% compared to the previous month.

He Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell to 3.3% in March compared to the same month last year, according to data released today by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Year-on-year inflation was 6% in February, 2.7 points lower than in March.
The year-on-year CPI has reached its lowest level since August 2021, reflecting the fall in the price of electricity and fuel, which rose in March 2022 after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and fell this month.
Despite the fall in year-on-year inflation, prices keep rising.
In monthly terms, from February to Marchhas the CPI registered a 0.4% increase.
The Underlying inflation, which does not count unprocessed foods or energy products, has fallen by a tenth to 7.5% in its interannual rate. Still, the difference with the general CPI is 4.2 points. Monthly, the increase is 0.7 point.
The advance details for March should be confirmed by INE by the middle of next month.
