Castillo’s attorney, Benji Espinoza, added in statements to the press that the president has determined that “he is completely innocent of all charges falsely attributed to him”. He added that he “has had no link whatsoever to promote the purchase of biodiesel. The president does not hide, does not hide or will not cover for anyone” in the case of Mariano González.
The former interior minister accused Castillo of firing him to prevent the arrest of former minister Juan Silva and his cousin Fray Vásquez, fugitives from the case of an alleged open criminal organization.
