A violent quarrel among schoolgirls that took place in Mayrhofen in the Zillertal is circulating on TikTok. The recording, which lasted about 50 seconds, also ended up on the principal’s mobile phone and the principal responded the same day…
Bullying, quarrels or even clenched fists among schoolchildren – what used to be done in secret is now often documented by mobile phone. A 50-second TikTok video is circulating in the Zillertal and beyond. It shows two girls hitting and insulting each other.
A third participant films the scenes, and a fourth girl is also recognizable. They would be students of the secondary school Mayrhofen.
Outside, then in the station toilet
“Yes, take a picture – no!” shouts one of the girls at the beginning, before punching a second girl in front of a house wall. Later, the scuffle continued in the toilet of Mayrhofen train station. Director Michael Bachlechner says to the “Tiroler Krone” request: “I also received the video in the morning and called in the school social worker.”
However, this happened outside school hours and not only ‘his’ students were involved.
reconciliation between opponents
Three of the four participants were then asked to speak and said that there had been a reconciliation between the opponents (natives with a migration background). Bachlechner emphasizes teaching nonviolent conflict resolution in school, and basic digital education (handling social media) is also taught.
