Three British citizens are being held in Afghanistan by the radical Islamic Taliban. The British Foreign Office is working to “ensure consular contact”, an aid agency is taking care of the families of those affected.
Two of those arrested have probably been held by the Taliban since January. According to media reports, the men are a doctor working for an aid organization, the manager of a housing facility for development workers and a traveler known on the YouTube video platform. Aid organization Presidium Network called on the Taliban on Twitter to release the men. Your arrest is probably based on a misunderstanding.
According to his organisation’s findings, the men are “in good condition” and are being treated well, with no evidence of torture or other ill-treatment, Presidium Network’s Scott Richards told Sky News.
