Winning the lottery in London turned out to be a clear flop. Because instead of winning millions, a player only got a paltry ten pounds. Even a legal dispute could no longer give the lady a life of luxury.
A court in London on Tuesday rejected Joan Parker-Grennan’s claim for a £1 million payout, the British news agency PA reported. The woman, from the city of Boston, bought a £5 lottery ticket on August 25, 2015 to win instantly. To win anything in the game, a number from the field of your own numbers must match a winning number. Then the amount of the prize won will be displayed.
Enchanted computer system
The lottery provider Camelot stressed that the computer system had set the winnings at ten pounds at the time of purchasing the lottery ticket. On the other hand, Parker-Grennan’s attorney pointed out that “different graphical animations” were displayed on some players’ screens due to technical issues.
The computer congratulated the woman for winning ten pounds. But due to the technical error, two other matching numbers were also seen at the same time, with a price tag of one million pounds. Therefore, the lottery player demands this amount – ultimately in vain.
