A woman in Wattens has given fire alarms about 180 times since 2021. The Florianis went out every time, but so far there has never been a fire. Unfortunately, a tragic fate lurks behind the alarm orgies.
Two days ago, on Tuesday morning, the Wattenerin reported fire again – twice in succession within an hour. “Both times she wanted to have noticed the smell of fire – in her apartment or in the stairwell of the apartment building,” says Christian Liebl of the Wattens volunteer fire department. The usual picture presented itself again: there was no fire at all. “Because we know the woman, we usually only deploy with two men and are accompanied by the police,” says Thomas Mößmer, deputy commander of the Wattens fire brigade.
Six warnings in one night
Since 2021 she has been “stalking” the voluntary Wattener Florianis. They then have to leave work and it is not uncommon for them to be awakened from their sleep. Because even at night the woman repeatedly sounds the alarm. “The highlight so far has been six warnings in one night,” recalls Christian Liebl. The volunteers can hardly think about sleeping.
Unfortunately, there is a tragic fate behind the alarm orgies – the woman is apparently addicted to drugs. According to reports, the Red Cross and police have already informed her of alleged incidents. And before she moved to Wattens, she attracted attention in Schwaz with similar actions.
“We always have to move”
“Although we know the woman, we always have to move,” says Mößmer. “Because there could have been an emergency at some point.” The Florianis have already tried a lot to improve the situation. “Unfortunately, not even the police or the prosecutor’s office have been able to help us so far,” regrets Mößmer. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done. According to Bernd Noggler, head of the control center in Tyrol, the woman is not isolated. “Such series come back again and again,” he knows.
