In a Viennese care institution for young people with intellectual and cognitive disabilities, an employee is said to have repeatedly abused a 17-year-old girl for a long time. The case is said to have started with an anonymous advertisement. The Public Prosecution Service is already investigating, according to authority spokeswoman Nina Bussek.
The counselor is said to have abused the girl between 2016 and 2019 in the facility that offers young people a workplace and daytime activities. The investigation into sexual abuse of a mentally handicapped person (§ 205 StGB) and violation of sexual self-determination (§ 205a StGB) started with an anonymous complaint that was submitted to the Public Prosecution Service in mid-March.
Supervisor is said to have even got girls pregnant
The focus of the surveys is the healthcare provider, but also the head of the institution. The suspect is said to have had sexual intercourse with the youngster over the years and even got her pregnant.
After the close relationship between the executive and his client got around, the employee was fired – but no criminal charges were filed against the suspect. The suspected situation has not been reported to the responsible authorities – such as the Youth Care Agency.
The warden may have covered up the crime
“There is a suspicion that the crime has been covered up because a report would have been made,” the ad reads. The management of the institution is accused of favoritism (Article 299 Sr) and failure to prevent a criminal offense (Article 286 Sr).
“The investigations are still at the very beginning,” emphasizes the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office.
