The decision to send part of the climate bonus as a voucher has already caused a lot of trouble because the aid has not arrived. Often the reason was carelessness, in the current case in Lower Austria there is probably criminal energy behind it: a postman is said to have collected several RSa letters.
The 29-year-old Austrian is said to have hidden about ten climate bonus vouchers in a furniture safe, reports the “Kurier”. In order to cover up the fact that the – now former – postman did not deliver the vouchers worth 500 euros to the right addresses in the Mostviertel, he would have become “creative”: the public prosecutor’s office in St. Pölten assumes that he is on his ” Handpad” electronically signed on behalf of the recipients.
The rightful owners of the vouchers were deprived of their climate bonus: if proof of delivery is sent to the addressee, the voucher is deemed to have been delivered. It is still unclear how much damage has been done.
Car key confiscated after dismissal
The indictment charges the 29-year-old with other crimes. He is also said to have taken a credit card from a letter in the postal distribution center in the Mostviertel and stolen money from a wallet. After being caught by internal detectives, the man was fired – on his departure he allegedly stole the car keys from his company car.
The alleged perpetrator will soon be tried by the regional court of St. Pölten. He himself has not yet responded to the accusations against him.
