Because she shared a hate post against Muslims, a pensioner has to go back to school. The judge ordered her to attend a hate-on-the-web workshop to hopefully reflect on her Facebook activities in the future…
“No culture gets on our nerves like that” – this was the title of a Facebook post against Islam. After a woman shared this, she had to answer to the Vienna regional court for the crime of hate speech.
Post only got a “Like”
“No Japanese needs signs that women are not tied to a car,” the judge reads just a small excerpt from the post. The pensioner protests her innocence, it wouldn’t even match her “vocabulary”. She shouldn’t have reached many people anyway, because she only got one like for the shared post. Now there is a hate-on-the-network workshop and two years of probation – not legally binding.
