A pedagogy student from Salzburg stalked a twelve-year-old boy for a long time, apparently seeing him as a substitute partner in a bad way. According to the indictment, the man allegedly demanded and possessed nude photos of his victim. In addition, there would also have been sexual assaults in the man’s car. That is why the first instance imposed a suspended sentence with a probationary period of three years and a work ban.
“Good morning my dear. I love you. Have fun at school!” What the message of a loving parent could be, turned out in court on Wednesday, when a 26-year-old education student was tried at the Salzburg courthouse.
The man, who was diagnosed with “paedosexual development with a homosexual orientation” by a psychiatrist, befriended a 12-year-old boy at a skate park in 2020. The duo spent time together riding bicycles or playing computer games.
“He became more and more pushy”
“It went well at first, then it got weird. He got more and more pushy,” the 15-year-old recalled in his statement. The victim’s parents realized how intrusive “he” was when they examined his mobile phone in the fall of 2021. In addition to declarations of love, there were also nude photos of the boy.
The defendant allegedly sent it to himself from the victim’s mobile phone. He also vehemently demanded such photos, promising fireworks in return. The future teacher appreciated the photos with perversely suggestive comments.
And: In the car he would have touched the boy in the crotch. Defense attorney Peter Macheiner demanded an acquittal in view of the assault. His client portrayed the victim as a liar, he didn’t need therapy.
The perpetrator wanted to work at Bureau Jeugdzorg
Shocking detail: The man told the appraiser that he would like to work in youth care later on and take care of children from problem families. But nothing comes of that. The court banned the man from working with children and young people.
In addition to a suspended prison sentence of one year, he also imposed a fine of 1440 euros. The victim will receive a thousand euros for the assault. Victim representative Stefan Rieder is satisfied: “It is important that he no longer comes near children and young people.” Not legally binding!
