A fire broke out in an outbuilding in Eibiswald (Styria) on Tuesday evening. The 53-year-old owner’s wife raised the alarm. Ten chickens in a nearby coop died.
Around 10 p.m., Western Styria noticed the fire. She informed her son, who in turn alerted the fire brigade. The outbuilding, used as a workshop, wood storage and garage, was already completely ablaze when the fire brigade arrived. The flames were prevented from spreading to the adjacent residential building.
The extinguishing work continued until the early hours.
The extent of the damage and the cause of the fire are still under investigation. No one was injured, but according to police, at least ten chickens died in an adjacent coop. Seven fire brigades were deployed with 17 vehicles and a total of 97 armed forces.
