Customs office drug investigators made a record find in Bavaria at the end of June: Customs officers seized more than a ton of cocaine. With a value of more than 100 million euros, this is the largest drug find ever seized in Bavaria. Three suspects have since been arrested.
In a container through Germany
The record find was a total of 1075 kilograms. The drugs had been brought from Hamburg to Aschaffenburg. Research had previously shown that a container would arrive in the port of Hamburg, which, among other things, was transporting cocaine. When the container was transported to Aschaffenburg, it was already checked by customs officers.
After traveling a few days further, three people in Hesse were caught trying to sell the smuggled cocaine. The three suspects are now in custody.
