A 72-year-old Tyrolean wanted to extort underwear photos from his two sons’ au pair and ended up in court in Innsbruck. There the man was extremely meek and got away with it.
“She was like a daughter to me,” the 72-year-old emphasized at the regional court, visibly nervous and with a shaking voice. But for this statement he received an irritated look from the Public Prosecution Service. “I hope you don’t ask your daughter for photos in her underwear,” the prosecutor said.
Girls were also vilified
Out of anger, the Tyrolean had threatened the Madagascar-born au pair via WhatsApp to intervene against her at the AMS and have her visa blocked because she did not want to send him underwear photos. He also claimed to police that his two sons’ nanny had manipulated the message flow.
Belated remorse and insight
“I’m sorry, I crossed boundaries and I don’t know how or why it happened,” the man said in court. He “just wanted to help her”, especially since the trained nurse “wanted to stay in Austria” and had been able to start in the clinic thanks to his “networking”. But that didn’t happen anymore.
fine imposed
Judge Norbert Hofer eventually offered the 72-year-old a reprieve with a fine of 1,750 euros, which he gratefully accepted. However, the procedure was able to continue because the public prosecutor spoke out against it.
