The staffing scheme file includes some 7,000 workers from the Gijón and Avilés, Sagunto, Etxebarri and Lesaka factories.
AcerlorMittal management and unions have agreed on the application of a Temporary Employment File (ERTE), initially for six months, which will also affect the Etxebarri and Lesaka factories.
In total, the measure will affect around 7,000 employees of companies in Gijón and Avilés (Asturias), Sagunto (Valencia), Etxebarri and Lesaka.
According to union sources, the agreement establishes economic guarantees of 90% of gross wages and all additional payments and vacations for those affected by the ERTE.
The file on the temporary employment scheme is the result of the fire that broke out in Blast Furnace A of the plant in Gijón, which paralyzed the installations.
