This could have ended badly! Shortly before 9 a.m., a 32-year-old Ukrainian drove his truck on Tiroler Straße in Brixlegg. At the exit of a roundabout, his fully loaded trailer, which weighed several tons, came loose. Moments later, not only the driver but also all other road users could breathe a sigh of relief. In a busy parking lot, the trailer did not roll into the oncoming lane or the shoulder, but remained in the lane.
After about 30 minutes, the roadway was cleared again and the trailer was coupled to the tractor. Fortunately no one was injured. However, there was massive property damage.
Hundred kilometers on the road with a defect
According to the first information, the driver has already traveled about 300 kilometers with the trailer. The accident happened a few kilometers before his destination in Radfeld. There the safety lever should have been unlocked and eventually disconnected due to an incorrectly laid air pressure hose.
