A spacecraft carrying nearly two tons of cargo and some space-grown tomatoes has returned to Earth from the International Space Station. The unmanned SpaceX spacecraft landed off the coast of Florida in the Atlantic Ocean Sunday evening, according to the US space agency NASA.
On board were some frozen dwarf tomatoes that the astronauts had grown and harvested for months aboard the ISS.
On Earth, research is now being carried out into how the conditions in space influence their growth and quality.
From growing vegetables in space, NASA promises more crew satisfaction and more flexibility for long-term missions.
