The 29-year-old failed to deliver at least 20 RSa letters in Lower Austria and faked the delivery. He also stole tires. The Upper Austrian has now been given a suspended sentence of twelve months – legally binding.
This career path was short-lived: instead of delivering mail with a very good content to the lucky recipient, an Upper Austrian preferred to let it disappear into his own pocket. Now the postal worker had to answer to the court in St. Pölten for abuse of public authority, embezzlement, data falsification and theft.
“Drawn From Life”
In the dock, the 29-year-old was bright. He was “marked by life” and could “remember little”, explains the man who suffers from depression and drug addiction.
Accused previously convicted of fraud
In the summer of last year, the delivery person in the Mostviertel (Lower Austria) failed to deliver eight registered letters in addition to twelve RSa letters with climate bonus vouchers. In six cases he even forged the recipient’s signature. He also stole tires worth nearly 4,000 euros and the key to his van when it was stolen in his home country. The 29-year-old has now been given a twelve-month suspended sentence, including instruction for addiction treatment – legally binding.
