In the village of Maltschach (Carinthia), a wooden garden house caught fire on Wednesday night. When firefighters arrived, it was already engulfed in flames.
Around 1:30 a.m. the fire brigade of St. Martin/Feldkirchen and Radweg to Maltschach was alerted. The flames could be fought with heavy respiratory protection. A water supply was installed using an adjacent fire hydrant. Despite the quick arrival of the fire brigade, the entire wooden hut burned down.
No injuries – damage and cause so far unclear
The residential building in the immediate vicinity was completely protected by the heavy smoke development and the blazing flames. After two hours, the fire brigade was able to re-enter the armory. The cause of the fire is so far unclear.
