Terrible act on Saturday morning in the Wetzelsdorf district of Graz: a 28-year-old allegedly killed his partner. During his flight, he also caused a fatal traffic accident in which a bystander was killed.
A large-scale operation of the Graz director in Wetzelsdorf has been running since 07:00: “It currently looks like a murder, the investigation is ongoing,” police spokesman Fritz Grundnig told the “Krone”. A woman was found in a residential building with serious injuries, despite immediate resuscitation efforts, there was no rescue for her.
Almost at the same time, a fatal traffic accident occurred in nearby Straßganger Straße, in which one person was killed.
More details about the terrible act are now known: a neighbor discovered the bloodied 39-year-old in her apartment around 6 a.m. The man immediately informed the emergency services, who unfortunately fought in vain for the life of the woman from Graz. The alleged perpetrator, the victim’s 28-year-old partner, fled after the crime. With his white BMW, he caused a head-on collision with an oncoming car on the adjacent Straßganger Straße, in which the driver died on the spot. The suspect was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is currently in a coma.
Straßganger Straße is currently still closed, but the police expect it to reopen to traffic soon.
