A special kind of vandalism took place in Bregenz on Monday evening. Three men aged 18, 19 and 20 cut a rainbow flag hanging from a flagpole in front of the Evangelical Church. The three Lauterachers were caught immediately after the crime.
At around 9:15 p.m., the boys climbed onto a garbage bag stand that they had brought to the flagpole as a climbing aid in order to get to the rainbow flag in the first place. They then cut the flag into pieces with a hooked blade attached to a broomstick.
Pastor called the police
What they did not know, however, was that they attracted the attention of the pastor as they wielded the flagpole. He observed the three boys and alerted the police, it was at the request of ‘Krone’.
The three vandals from Lauterach did not get far after the crime. The Bregenz city police were able to locate the young men nearby shortly afterwards. She is now waiting for a criminal complaint to the prosecutor’s office in Feldkirch.
