A community of interests had demanded the deletion of the fourth stanza because the word “German” was said to have originally been used instead of “magnificent” in the last line.
“This is my German homeland!” According to the open letter from the IG authors, that was originally the last line of the fourth stanza of the Carinthian national anthem. Because this “indirectly denies the Slovene Carinthians the right to regard Carinthia as their homeland”, the IG demanded the deletion of the verse in a letter to LH Peter Kaiser. This was submitted to a competition of the Carinthian national team in 1930 by the teacher Agnes Millonig, who in 1933 was already a proud National Socialist.
