A search for a missing person in the Tyrolean Ebbs (Kufstein district) had a light outcome on Thursday evening. An 82-year-old man in poor health went missing from a care home. He must have left the building in the middle of the night.
The 82-year-old resident has health problems, according to police, and lives in the dormitory in Ebbs. He is said to have left this around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday – at first no one noticed. When it became clear that the resident was missing, a report was immediately made in the dormitory. Officials launched a search that night, in which the Ebbs, Kirchberg and Brixlegg fire departments also participated. Among other things, a drone with a thermal imaging camera was used.
The 82-year-old was soaked and hypothermic
Two hours after the man had left the dormitory, it was safe: shortly before 2:30 a.m., the emergency services found the missing person in a meadow. The oldest was soaked and hypothermic. The rescue had to take him to Kufstein Hospital.
