Dangerous scenes took place in a garden in Strass in the Tyrolean Zillertal on Wednesday afternoon. A garden house went up in flames and the resident was injured. The fire is believed to have been started by children with a lighter.
The fire was reported to the fire service around 3:40 p.m. A summer house in Strass was on fire. Initially, the resident, a 79-year-old man, tried to extinguish the fire himself. But this attempt failed, and the pensioner also suffered minor burns. Finally, the Strass and Jenbach fire departments arrived. In the end they managed to put out the fire.
Children may have set house on fire
The fire was probably started by several children, the police suspect. They may have used a lighter and set the gazebo on fire. This caused significant damage to the building.
