Interview “Krone” – “People in the countryside are usually more open than in the city”

Date:

June is considered ‘Pride Month’. There are also many rainbow flags in Tyrol these days. Colorful splendor for country houses and many municipal and community buildings. Innsbruck suddenly has its own LGBTQIA+ department. What is it about? The “Krone” asked the Center for Sexual Health.

“Kron”: DThe “Pride Month” of June is marked by many symbols and a parade for the LGBTQIA+ movement (lesbian, gay, trans, queer, intersex, asexual). What is it about?
Matthew Recreis: The point is to make visible the diversity of love and sexual orientation in Tyrol. It’s also queer (not heterosexual, mind you) affirming. A democratic society must embrace diversity. We in Tyrol are diverse, we are not behind the last mountains with the seven dwarfs, but an open-minded people.
