A woman suffered life-threatening facial injuries in a fire in an apartment on Leopoldauer Platz in Vienna-Floridsdorf on Thursday evening. The 53-year-old was flown by helicopter to the intensive care unit of the AKH. The Viennese professional fire brigade extinguished the flames.
As a spokesman for the Viennese professional rescue service explained, the fire was alerted around 5:30 p.m. The emergency services, who entered the apartment with face masks, found the seriously injured woman in the building.
She was taken outside and then handed over to the ambulance, which immediately started providing first aid. The fire brigade, which was deployed with 27 men, extinguished the fire and ensured that there was no longer any danger to others.
