The economy of the Spanish state grew by 0.5% in the first quarter of the year, a tenth more than in the previous quarter, thanks to the increase in investment and exports, as household consumption contracted by 1.3% and the government spending fell by 1.6%. .

Year-over-year, GDP accelerated even more, increasing its growth by nine-tenths, from 2.9% to 3.8%, according to National Accounts data released this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). .

The Spanish Ministry of Economy has emphasized that this acceleration in GDP is due to the increase in exports and investment and has taken place “in an international context of great uncertainty”, marked by the consequences of the Russian war in Ukraine, which in his opinion, the “great soundness and resilience” of the economy.

Year-over-year CPI rises to 4.1% in April and core inflation is at 6.6%

Similarly, the department led by Nadia Calviño has emphasized that the Spanish state has “practically reached pre-pandemic levels of GDP”, the only indicator pending recovery.
