A German bus driver set a rather sad record in the state of Lower Saxony. The 26-year-old rookie went off the road three times (!) within 90 minutes during his shift on Wednesday. Neither the 26-year-old nor passengers were injured.
According to a report by NDR, the bus first hit the edge of a traffic island. Moments later, the vehicle got stuck in a meadow while turning. The bus could only be freed from the plight with the help of a tractor. Moments later, the driver is said to have confused the accelerator and brake pedals when entering a city. The vehicle went off the road again.
No alcohol or drugs involved
According to the report, only five students were on the bus in the first accident, the other two “slips” happened without passengers. Alcohol and drugs were not involved, however. It was just a very inexperienced driver.
His boss was apparently merciful to his inexperienced and still insecure employee. There is no dismissal or other disciplinary action. The man should only get more driving lessons. The entrepreneur also wants to pay for this.
