Colleagues scammed? – Ex-pro football player cheated policemen with their money

Date:

In total, colleagues transferred 219,000 euros to the suspected police officer. But he speculated in currency trading and lost everything. The ex-football player and temporary vacuum cleaner salesman always wants to be aware that this can happen.

“I had three books at home and I read them several times,” says an ex-footballer of his qualifications in currency trading. The 35-year-old actually works as a police officer, having previously worked as a vacuum cleaner salesman.

Promises of a lot of money were just hot air
He then tried to be the “Wolf of Wall Street” among his peers. After unsuccessfully investing his money and that of his girlfriend, even moving his car, he allegedly swindled money from fellow officials with the promise of big profits. The victims never saw anything – and neither did the suspect. He speculated the whole amount.

“I didn’t promise anything!”
“Maybe there’s a reason not everyone does it,” Vienna Judge Philipp Schnabel pointed out the high risk of loss in forex trading. The Styrian native always wants to have done the same: “I have not promised anything.” All his colleagues would have known that they too could lose their money. As the witnesses say, he never uttered the words “very safe thing” or “loss is impossible”.

The 35-year-old did not think twice about the distribution of the expected profit: ,,We would have looked at that eventually.” He gets a puzzled look from Mr. Rat. “But do you understand in hindsight that it’s a bit adventurous?”

Officials wait in lines
He received a total of 219,000 euros from the 27 victims – mainly police officers who lined up in front of the courtroom in uniform, waiting for their testimonies…
