A serious accident occurred in Ellmau (district of Kufstein) in Tyrol on Friday morning. A 22-year-old local resident had run off the road with her car and flipped several times. She was badly injured.
The 22-year-old was in Ellmau on Alte Straße in the Marcher lift area around 07:00. There she had to leave the road on the right for reasons that have not yet been clarified. Her car crashed into a streetlight and rolled over several times, finally crashing into a mound of dirt.
The driver was seriously injured and after first aid was flown to the hospital in Innsbruck with the C4 emergency helicopter. The car was a total loss. The old road was closed for more than an hour and a half in the vicinity of the accident. A bypass has been installed.
