The prosecutor’s office has closed the investigation into the suspected rape of a 13-year-old in the toilet of a bar in Wiener Neustadt.
The suspicion of rape and sexual abuse of minors originally leveled against a 21-year-old was unsubstantiated, official spokeswoman Silke Pernsteiner confirmed Friday when asked about an online report by “Kurier”.
“No Directions Provided”
According to Pernsteiner, the investigation of the Wiener Neustadt prosecutor’s office “has not produced any indication that the sexual intercourse was not consensual”. Furthermore, nothing indicated that the suspect was aware of the actual age of the 13-year-old.
There was also no precise evidence that the teen suffered from knockout drops or similar substances — which had been brought forward by the student — Pernsteiner said, citing a toxicology report obtained.
incident in mid-March
The suspect, a 21-year-old, was arrested on the evening of March 15 in Gloggnitz (Neunkirchen district). The man was released a few days later because there was no strong suspicion.
