A six-year-old boy was hit by a car at noon on Monday afternoon and injured in Hittisau in the Bregenzerwald in Vorarlberg. Together with another child, the boy suddenly ran into the street.
Both children had got off a public bus and were running into the street coming from the left. The 75-year-old driver was unable to brake in time.
Thrown on the road
While a child was able to pull over in time for the oncoming car, the six-year-old was hit full force by a 75-year-old’s car and thrown onto the road. After first aid on site, the injured boy was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter.
