Circular walks in the Bregenzerwald in Vorarlberg are popular with tourists. An 18-member tour group from France had also planned this on Sunday. However, the walk did not go as planned, because the group of mostly elderly people quickly got completely lost and a search had to be started.
The 18-member tour group from France started their trek in the municipality of Schönenbach on Sunday afternoon. After the group of tourists did not arrive at the coach at the agreed time, the bus driver immediately alerted the emergency services.
Well and unharmed
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., the search between Schönenbach and Sibratsgfäll was successful and with the support of the mountain rescue service, everyone involved could be returned to the bus safely and unharmed. Two police patrols and a police helicopter were also deployed.
