It is already the fourth day of the disruptive actions announced by the climate activists of the last generation in Vienna: on the way to work and school, it may take a little longer this time in the Naschmarkt area. The police are already on the scene. Efforts will be made to dissolve the meeting as soon as possible. The western entrance and Wienzeile are blocked.
Although the activists of the last generation have been causing a nuisance in Vienna’s early morning traffic since Tuesday, the protests are expected to continue for a long time. The activists, also known as ‘climate glue’, want to carry out their actions for three weeks. On Friday, the demonstrators positioned themselves on the Naschmarkt, in the Wienzeile district and at the western entrance.
In order to interrupt the meeting of the participants as quickly as possible, the Viennese police are already present. There may be delays with the car and the tram in the area.
Yes to 100 km/h, no to fracking
The activists of the last generation are outraged: “Our government has failed to pass a new climate protection law in 855 days.” They demand 100 km/h on the street. In Austria, too, they speak out against fracking.
As some may already know, during the demos, several participants stand in the street with banners, clinging to the concrete and blocking traffic. This often causes huge traffic jams.
