Aggressive local guest – rioters threw a baton at the police officers

Date:

A drunken night owl in Wels initiated a large-scale police action in the early hours of the morning. After allegedly injuring guests in a restaurant, he also attacked the police. All available strips were used.

Police officers from Wels were sent to a bar in the city around 2 a.m. on Saturday because of bodily harm. During the investigation, an unknown man suddenly jumped out of a taxi, aggressively approached the police officers and threw a telescopic baton in their direction.

disk shattered
The baton missed the officers by inches and hit the restaurant window. The window broke.
The police officers then tried to arrest the angry and beating man.

Due to the heated mood of those present, the police officers called for reinforcements. All available patrols in the Wels area drove to the bar and the rioters were arrested. His identity was subsequently clarified. It was a 29-year-old Welser.

Weapon ban imposed
According to witnesses, there would have been physical injury or at least an argument between the suspect and guests of the restaurant prior to the incident. An interrogation was not possible for the time being because the 29-year-old was heavily under the influence of alcohol.

After he calmed down at the Dragoon Street police station, his arrest was lifted. A provisional firearms ban has been imposed on the man and several charges await him.
