Rain and hail hit parts of Carinthia on Sunday evening. The fire department was on duty.
The storm front that swept across Carinthia on Sunday caused multiple floods. Especially in Lower Carinthia – in Wolfsberg and Völkermarkt, the emergency services had to move. “We have about 20 operations, basements and streets, fields, garages are flooded,” says the state alarm and alert center. The Lavamünder state road was displaced by a mudslide in the Wunderstätten area, as was the St. Pauler state road.
The storm center even issued a storm warning for Wolfsberg and Völkermarkt. In the late Sunday evening hours, the weather calmed down again.
