The SC Harland is currently fighting for every point in the 2nd division Traisental, off the field, like many other sports clubs throughout Austria, but above all to survive financially due to inflation. EVN’s latest bill comes at the absolute wrong time, according to which the club would now have to pay almost fifteen times as much. The “Krone” has looked into the case, but also into the background of the dying club in Lower Austria.
Professionally, Anton Heinzl speaks for the SPÖ Minister of Health Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig, privately for the Harland Sports Club. Heinzl is president of the traditional amateur club in the heart of the Lower Austrian capital. He is the good soul and the go-to girl.
Heinzl sometimes mows the grass before the game, takes care of the jerseys and looks for sponsors to keep the club afloat financially. That becomes increasingly difficult in times of rising prices, or as Heinzl puts it, “almost impossible”. When he saw the new electric bill, even the veteran communications professional was speechless.
