The suspect was apprehended “without incident” after a short chase, in which local, state and federal agents took part. The reason for the event is not yet known.
The prime suspect in the killing of six people and injuring 25 others in a mass shooting this Monday in the city of Highland Park, Illinois during a July 4 parade, has been arrested by authorities, according to local police chief Lou Jogman.
“We will have to connect (the detainee) to the crime scene, we want to follow the proper process,” said Jogmen, explaining that the arrested Robert Crimo, 22, whose name and image authorities revealed as “a person of interest” in the crime, but is not officially considered a suspect yet.
Jogmen told reporters Crimo must now be questioned by police to determine his connection to the shooting.

“We are encouraged to have a person of interest in custody, but again, we will continue with whatever comes our way,” the local police chief said.
Jogmen explained that the suspect was arrested “without incident” after a short chase, in which local, state and federal agents took part.
The reason for the event is not yet known.
The shooting happened about 10 minutes after the parade started. Apparently the shots came from the roof of a building.
A witness assured that “it looked like a war zone”. “People were crying, screaming and nobody knew what was going on,” he told WBBM.
