The third sports complex “Rafa Nadal Tennis Center” in the world opened this Monday at the Hong Kong Golf & Tennis Academy (HKGTA), as announced in a statement by the spokesperson for the academy of the winner of 22 Grand Slam titles located in Manacor (Mallorca).
Among those in Mallorca, Kuwait, Mexico, Greece and Hong Kong, there are already five international sports complexes with the Rafa Nadal brand.
Both the Majorcan tennis player and his team aim to continue international expansion into more countries in the coming years, the note says.
“We are very excited about this new international project in Hong Kong. Since opening the academy in Mallorca five years ago, we have always found it very interesting to expand our approach to more countries to reach as many people as possible, ”Nadal said.
“For us, having trusted partners is important and so I thank the HKGTA team for their tremendous trust in the project. The facilities are impressive and we will have great coaches to head Rafa Nadal Tennis “I am convinced that this will be a success and we will gradually increase our international expansion”, he added.
The Hong Kong sports complex has 7 outdoor tennis courtsan indoor tennis court, two mini-tennis courts, a gym area, a sports shop with a stringer and it will also have an area with a decoration linked to Rafa Nadal along with some of his trophies and photos of his career.
The future head of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center will be Pedro Pissarra, a Portuguese coach with extensive training experience.
Italian coach Giorgia Venzi, one of those responsible for tennis programs for seniors, also traveled from Manacor to Hong Kong.
In addition, the rest of the technical team working at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center has been in Mallorca in recent weeks training using the RNA methodology in everything related to the key aspects of the tennis training system, physical preparation, nutrition, sports psychology, technology and values to the directors of each area.
