A serious accident involving several vehicles took place on the southern motorway (A2) in Niederösterreich in the direction of Vienna on Tuesday morning. The result was a mile-long traffic jam.
An accident occurred at the Wöllersdorf interchange. According to the police, five cars were involved and at least one person was trapped. The emergency medical helicopter “Christophorus 3” was in action, an ÖAMTC spokesperson reported. The A2 is closed.
Lost 45 minutes
Drivers in early traffic had to plan for about 45 minutes of lost time, according to the ÖAMTC. The traffic jam stretched back about nine kilometers. It was recommended to leave the motorway at Wiener Neustadt and take Wiener Neustädter Straße (B17).
