Summary of the most important news that eitb.eus will publish today.
These are the topics that will be central main headlines from next Friday, October 18, 2024:
– Israel kills Hamas leader: The Israeli army has confirmed it has killed top Hamas leader and mastermind of the October 7 attacks, Yahya Sinwar, the most wanted man in Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip. His death could mark a before and after in the course of the regional conflict. Hamas has apparently been beheaded, as Sinwar was one of the few survivors in the Hamas hierarchy after the assassination of political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh and army chief Mohamed Deif this summer.
– Euskadi Literature Prizes: The First Vice President and Minister of Culture and Language Policy of the Basque Government, Ibone Bengoetxea, will announce the winners of the Euskadi Literature Prizes 2024 in the last four modalities: Literature in Spanish, Literary Translation in Basque, Essay in Basque and Rehearsal in Spanish, at 11am, at the San Telmo Museum.
– EITB Maratoia video clip: The singers Martin Urrutia and Leire Martínez have joined their voices and their hands in a special artistic collaboration to promote EITB Maratoia 2024, the cause of which this year will be cardiovascular disease. Both artists provided the vocals and recorded the solidarity music video for the song “Eskutitza” by Hemendik At, a song that, like the EITB Maratoia itself, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
