Strong gusts of wind kept the fire brigades on their toes, especially in the west and north – there were more than a thousand operations there. Although the situation calmed down for a short time, new storms are expected throughout Austria from Wednesday afternoon. This time it should also capture the East.

More than 300 missions in Salzburg, more than 400 missions in Upper Austria and about 300 missions in Tyrol: that is the summary of the fire brigade on Tuesday evening. Road signs were also thrown onto the roadway. Numerous emergency calls were also made in Tyrol due to heavy rainfall and wind gusts. According to initial information, no one was injured. The west and south would be particularly hard hit in the morning – severe storms have already been reported in Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Burgenland and Styria. The east cannot escape a cloudburst either, it should crack there in the afternoon hours. However, storms do not immediately mean falling temperatures – it remains warm, with temperatures reaching 33 degrees in the federal capital. In the west, maximum temperatures will rise to 25 degrees.
