A 44-year-old violent criminal from Romania, wanted by an EU arrest warrant, was arrested in Vienna-Meidling on Wednesday night. He allegedly abused and threatened his own family in Italy.
At around 5 a.m., the Viennese police managed to arrest the 44-year-old Romanian who was wanted throughout Europe “because of intensive and extensive searches”.
Was already in custody
According to the police, he assaulted and threatened his family in Italy between 2018 and 2022. He has already been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison by an Italian court.
The Romanian evaded the Italian authorities after a year in prison and was therefore wanted internationally. He is now back in custody.
