As reported on Thursday, a 14-year-old e-bike driver was seriously injured in an accident in Bad Aussee in Styria. The fugitive driver of the accident turned himself in to police.
Last Thursday, shortly after 5.30 pm, there was a collision between a white car and an e-biker on the L731 near a bend. During the evasive maneuver, the 14-year-old, who was riding his e-bike through the valley to the center of Bad Aussee, seriously injured his hand. Initially, however, there was no trace of the driver.
Upper Austria has reported to the police
A published call for witnesses eventually led to a 35-year-old Upper Austrian man turning himself in to the police in Bad Aussee on Saturday. The woman from the Gmunden district stated that she was on holiday in Ausseerland. The incident with the cyclist happened on the way to a holiday home. According to her information, it drove extremely fast and roughly in the middle of the road through the valley. The 35-year-old was also shocked. However, after there had been no contact with the cyclist and she had not noticed a fall, she continued her journey.

Only media reports drew the attention of the Upper Austrian, who was visibly shocked by the incident, to the boy’s fall. The 14-year-old is now back in home care. The facts raised will be reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Graz and the district administration in Liezen after the investigation has been completed.
