Shots were fired at the Daimler factory in Sindelfingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on Thursday morning. One person was killed and another seriously injured. Police and rescue workers were on duty and two helicopters also circled the area. The perpetrator was arrested shortly after the crime.
The Ludwigsburg police announced that there was no longer any danger to the employees of the factory and the population.
According to BILD, employees reported that the crime scene was the automaker’s Factory 56. The S-Class is produced there, among other things.
The factory on Bela-Barenyi-Strasse is directly adjacent to the Mercedes-Benz Customer Center, where customers can pick up their ordered vehicles and book factory tours every day. 35,000 people work there.
