Year-on-year inflation has risen to 4.2% in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) and in Navarre0.9 and 0.7 points above that of March, according to data released today by the National Institute of Statistics.
Meanwhile the turnout in monthly installments it was 0.6% in the BAC and 1% in Navarra.
In the set of Spanish stateInflation rose 4.1% year-on-year in April, 0.8 points above the February figure, and 0.6% from the previous month.
The increase in inflation is mainly due to the rising fuel prices and lower electricity prices. Meanwhile, the increase in food prices in the Spanish state has slowed to 12.9%, the lowest rate since June 2022.
The increase in food prices also moderated in the BAC, from 15.5% in March to 12.6% in April, and in Navarra, from 16.5% in March to 13.7% in April.
In the inter-year rate (April 2023 compared to the same month in 2022), the food who uploaded the most price are sugar (+49.6%); butter (+31.2%); whole milk (+27.7%); skimmed milk (+27.5%); sauces and spices (+26.3%); cereals and derivatives (+18.2%); dairy products (+17.6%); other food preparations (+16.6%); potatoes (+16.5%) and pork (+16.1%).
For its part, the Underlying inflation (excluding unprocessed foods or energy products) moderated 0.9 points to finish at 6.6% in its interyear rate. In any case, it remains 2.5 points above the overall CPI, the smallest difference since last December and the lowest level since November 2022.
