After his visit to Germany, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will travel to France. According to information from the broadcaster BFM TV, the newspaper “Le Figaro” and the AFP news agency, he is expected in Paris on Sunday evening.

This is Zelensky’s second visit to France since the beginning of the Russian offensive war in Ukraine. President Emmanuel Macron had already received him in February together with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD). He is welcomed at Vélizy-Villacoublay Airport by French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna.

Berlin promises further support
During Zelensky’s visit to Germany, Scholz promised the Ukrainian president further support in the fight against the Russian invaders on Sunday. A day before Zelenskyj’s arrival in Berlin, the government in Berlin had announced an extensive armaments package for Kiev. According to the Federal Ministry of Defense, planned deliveries worth more than 2.7 billion euros include air defense systems, tanks and ammunition.

Selenskyj was received in Italy on Saturday by President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. He also had a private audience with Pope Francis of Ukraine.
